JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing the health and safety program for job sites, including implementation, maintenance, and
compliance with Cal-OSHA safety regulations: (IIPP), (Lifting Assessments),(Fall Protection),(PPE),
(Haz-Woper),(MSD Data Management.),( Confined Spaces), etc.
• Conducting safety briefings and tailgate meetings to instruct workers on hazards and safe work
practices and for reviewing relevant activity hazard analyses (AHAs), (JHAs).
• Conducting safety and health inspections and maintaining a written log, which includes area and
operations inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, and
actual dates of corrections.
• Maintaining applicable safety reference material on the project site.
• Attending the preconstruction conference, pre-work meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
• Maintaining health and safety records for all projects: OSHA #300,#300A,#301, Workman’s Comp.
• Ensuring that assigned site personnel have received the proper training and medical clearance prior
to entering the site.
• Maintaining a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until
resolution. Posting a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies on a safety bulletin board.
• Ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
• Ensuring that at least one qualified first aid/CPR providers are on site.
• Monitoring protective clothing and equipment to ensure that they are properly stored and maintained;
upgrading or downgrading personal protective equipment (PPE) based on site conditions.
• Implementing corrective measures for any unsafe or hazardous situation.
• Monitoring work parties for signs of stress, such as heat stress and fatigue.
• Coordinating emergency medical care, and advising medical personnel of potential exposures and
consequences.
• Participating in preparation and implementation of the (AHAs),(JHA’s) and reviewing and implementing
modifications.
• Ensuring that emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and telephone numbers of the ambulance,
local hospital, poison control center, fire department, and police department are posted at the project
sites.
